If there is one thing you need to know about me, it's that I love...love...LOVE project runway. I love fashion, I love sewing, I love tim gunn...I love it all. If you are unfamiliar with the show, it is basically about aspiring clothing designers who are given challenges to create "runway ready" looks in undesirable circumstances.  Maybe they are given 2 hours to do it, maybe they are only given $50 to shop for materials with, or maybe their materials come from unconventional places, like the garbage dump or a hardware store.  Whatever the case may be, the show always manages to deliver.

I was thinking about my show today (mainly because it's on tonight) and this thought came to me: I'm not much different from those designers. I am surrounded by people/things/situations that aren't easy to work with or deal with, but i still have the choice to make something beautiful out of it.

This month our series is Battlefield of the Mind, and one thing that Pastors Dan and Renee keep reemphasizing is that every sin starts with a thought. Every single bad decision that we make, that we will one minute, day, or year later regret, starts with us thinking about doing it. On project runway, one thing that I constantly hear from designers who send something outrageously hideous down the runway is, "I guess I just didn't see it like that.  I thought I was going to come out better."

The bottom line is, the devil is good...very good...at tricking us.  He makes us think that sin doesn't hurt...that little mistakes here or there won't hurt us.  That one drink, one guy, one night won't hurt.  He blinds our eyes to see how heartbroken we will be when that guy dumps us, or how devastated we will be when we can't stop drinking. He only lets us see the very moment that we are in.  I guarantee that if the designers could see the final outcome of their dress before they started "thinking it up", some of them would do things very, VERY differently.  I also guarantee that the same applies for us.

I don't care how young or old you are, start thinking about your future.  Think about how decisions will affect it...will it be positive or negative.  Starting tuning your mind up with Christ's, and see yourself and the plan He has for you through HIS EYES.  I guarantee, when you grab hold of it, your personal "designs" will drastically change.

Love People. Love Jesus.
